BULLARD, TX (KLTV)- A toddler has died as the result of a three vehicle accident on U.S.
Highway 69 north of Bullard. Officials say that seven people were
injured and three remain in critical condition.
Family members
confirm that two-year-old Sydney Jane Farris, who was traveling with her
father, died at the hospital from injuries she sustained from the
accident.
Sydney and her father were traveling in the sedan.
The accident happened around 9 p.m. Saturday evening off of U.S. Highway 69 near the intersection of County Road 152.
Two
pickup trucks and one sedan were involved in the accident. Officials
say one of the pickup trucks was traveling on the wrong side of the road
when it collided with one of the other vehicles.
"It's not the
worse I've seen, but it was stacked up in one of the worse ways that
I've seen. It's the first time that I've seen a pick up stacked on top
of another pick up like a toy car," said Fire Chief Keith Newburn,
Bullard Fire Department.
Two helicopters, one each from ETMC and Trinity Mother Frances were flown to the scene to transport two victims to the hospital.
Ambulances transported the
remaining five victims by ground to local hospitals.
Bullard and
Flint Gresham fire crews responded to the scene along with Tyler DPS.
It is not known yet if alcohol was a factor in this accident, but DPS will their investigation.
